The second One-on-one Masterclass lesson! This time we will look at tapping
à la Eddie Van Halen/Randy Rhoads/Kirk Hammett. Tapping has to be one of the most popular techniques on the electric guitar - and why wouldn't it be? It's easy to play fast, easy to improvise with, looks very difficult - not to mention it sounds terrifyingly cool! If you feel your technique isn't
evolving as fast as you would like it to, you must give tapping shot. I have taught my beginner students this specific pattern - and they have come back after a week playing it perfectly. They also usually wonder why I have been telling them that mastering the guitar is a life long dedication - t
hey learned to play fast over a week with tapping, didn't they?! So the three step method of the lesson should hopefully get any beginner started with this flashy technique. Enough said, tapping is a versatile technique and it can be devloppped into extremely complexe high-tech patterns (Jennifer

I love satriani, I don't think anyone would know who Vai is if had hadn't of played with David Lee Roth. But he was in that Movie with The Karate kid and I think he played the Devils menion and he looked good in that roll. What ever happened to the Karate kid? Did he O.D. or something. cuz it is the same frets, the solo then goes up one more fret only with the right hand to tap the 20th fret and then goes down a string to do the same thing and then down a few frets and so on...

"The lazy Man's approach to speed, tapping." LMFAO!!! It's so true! I could tap a lot sooner compared to fast scale runs and sweeps! Plus I think tapping is just a lot more fun in general to play. Tons of classical songs from Bach, Mozart, etc... can be played using taps.

what this guy doesn't show you when he starts to count 1 2 3 1 2 3 etc. on 1:30 he actually uses his middle finger as well to tap he doesn't show you this i don't know why but thats why he sounds so fast he is using 2 fingers instead of one

that was really sloppy. i dont think you should tap like that. you need to palm mute the strings before the one your tapping and tap inward so you dont hit any other strings. if you tap outward like he's doing, you could bump into some other stings when your on the 2nd string and so on.
