With all due respect, I don't think that's true at all. Look at the Detroit Lions - the first team to go 0-16 in the NFL, but every game was still sold out. That's why they're still around. Detroit fans are loyal.. even when the team is losing. If the Wings weren't good, I'd be willing to bet people would still go see the games, just like they do the Lions and the Tigers.
