IQ tests how good ... ( 1 month ago by devonherrington)
IQ tests how good you learn, not how much you know. And no, I haven't, but without guessing, I'm pretty gifted. I'm glad you asked because the greatest gift of humans is to ask huge questions-as well as small-in a multitude, thank you for exploring, you could be a scientist someday.

Believers have been ... ( 4 weeks ago by websnarf)
Believers have been supplied with the answer to every question they could ever have. The problem is that they are missing explanations and the accountability to reality that science has. Accountability to reality threatens to take their precious answer away from them. As these people are trained to recognize "sin" they may associate these feelings to whatever stimulus science provides them. Couple that with the warm blanket that religion provides and the result is they attack science.

There is no such thing as an "evolutionist". That's just a poor attempt at a pejorative by creationists. There is no evolutionary religion or dogma. Evolution pleads only that it be understood not worshiped. As to its truth, evolution stands with the rest of science. Its as true as gravity, electricity or atoms.

Actually you need only one. We got one, for a short time, and he *DID* change the world for good. That's why people post videos of him up here on YT long after he has died.

I sooo wish we could deny them all the benefits the "evils" of science provide them. See if they change their minds when they get that necrotising lesion that prayer seems to have such difficulty with....hehehe. I also with they wouldn't forget the pointlessness of their warm blankets when the sun is shining and the light of knowledge provides heat a-plenty. Well said (wo?)man!
The human body is ... ( 3 weeks ago by CityofDestiny)
The human body is amazing. Who and what we are (and choose to be) is lodged within the patterns canalized in our cerebral cortex. It is amazing that we can loose limbs, parts of organs, and even obtain a heart transplant; however, our brain is exempt from this. It contains who we are - - who we think we are. Interestingly enough, our mental status impacts our physical well-being -the two being inherently complex and co-dependent. Yes, the human brain is amazing!
